That is the question, "are you a Resident, or a Citizen?"
"Both" I replied.
"You can't be both."
When I went to the Department of Public Safety to renew my Drivers License, that was the exchange I had with the official when I explained I wanted to renew my DL registration.
When the official said "You can't be both," I thought for a bit and said "I'm a Citizen and I am a resident of Dallas Texas."
He then asked the obvious question, was I a US Citizen.
After that exchange he came up with a number, and a questionnaire to fill out.
Filing out the questionnaire which included such important questions as do I want to register to vote, do I want to donate to this or that, some relevant medical questions, and whether I live at a house, a motel, a shelter, etc. (I can't remember if half-way house was one of the options). I was also asked if I could communicate with officer, and some law abiding questions.
During my 2 hour wait near a family with 3 screaming kids and the lady barking out the assigned ID numbers and desk number to visit over the loud speaker which was confirmed by a display with number and desk. My number of 70 which started at 40 finally arrived. Most of the chairs were filled, but I was able to find one near the kids. There was 3 or 4 number sequences other than my 40-70. No food or drinks allowed and of course if you want to smoke, you must stand or sit outside on the sidewalk.
Having some 2 hour "quality time" to kill, I was still puzzled about being either a Citizen, or a Resident.
If I am a Resident I must not be able to be a Citizen. If I'm a Citizen, I must not be able to be a Resident. Thinking they must have asked this question at least a 1000 times, I must be missing something.
I have not been able to explain it to myself, or the three outside people I asked for help.
The best I could come up with is The State is replacing "illegal" with "resident."
Be careful if you get stopped by a law officer when he asks if you are a "resident?"
Just wonder if Property Tax understands that a Citizen can't be a Resident, and if Voter Registration is aware a Resident can't vote?
Not only is the US in trouble, Texas is too.

Prior to May 2009, Ally was known as General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC). It served as GM’s in-house auto-loan shop and provided financing to approximately 75 percent of the inventory at GM dealers.
In 2006, in order to generate capital, a struggling GM sold a 51-percent stake in a then-vibrant GMAC—which had entered the booming subprime mortgage business earlier in the decade—to Cerberus Capital Management for $14 billion.
“GMAC was taken out of GM in the first place because everyone thought it was so valuable,” Whalen said. “Investors wanted to salvage it from a GM bankruptcy and GM needed the cash at the time.” The sale also preserved GMAC’s credit rating, which allowed them to make even more subprime loans to house and auto buyers.
As the economic collapse took hold, GMAC/Ally looked to the government to stay afloat. Ally has spent nearly $9 million on lobbying since 2007.
Despite lacking the capital to qualify as a bank, the Federal Reserve granted Ally an exception and re-designated it a “bank holding company” in December 2008, a move that allowed it to receive bailout money. Within a week, the Fed bought a $5 billion stake in Ally and loaned the company another $1 billion.
After two more rounds of bailouts under the Obama administration, Ally received another $11.3 billion in 2009.

I need to make you all aware of what will become the largest tax hike in the history of America. You can read about it here in our recent Fort Lauderdale Sun Sentinel editorial, “The American Tax Code: A Weapon of Mass Destruction”.
This past Friday, “The Hill” newspaper reported the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released its assessment of President Barack Obama’s Fiscal Year 2013 budget. The CBO estimates the President's budget would adversely affect economic growth and the higher deficits would reduce economic output between 0.5 percent and 2.2 percent after five years. In addition, this budget strategy will reduce the amount of capital available to businesses.
The President’s budget will add some $3.5 trillion in deficits over the next 10 years, according to the CBO. However, the baseline of smoke and mirrors promulgated by the Obama Administration tries to convince the American people that deficits will be reduced by $3.2 trillion. This is why America must have an ideological debate about the direction in which this country will head. It is a debate which the liberal progressive left would rather avoid.
As you may be aware, much has been made of my recent response to a question from a constituent and assertion regarding so-called “communists” in the Congressional Progressive Caucus. I am pleased it has inspired so much passionate debate, for that was precisely the point. When I was studying for my Masters degrees in political science at Kansas State University and at the U.S. Army Command and General Staff Officer College, the very best professors were those who would begin each lecture with a challenging assertion. It engaged discussion and analysis, and was the best way to uncover the essence of the particular subject of the day. As Americans, we must bring to the forefront a fundamental discussion of what we want our country to be like 10 years, 20 years, and 100 years from now. Do we veer from our Founders’ vision of a constitutional republic, which preserves and protects the individual sovereignty of its citizens, along with the free market and the rights of the several states? Or do we continue to slide down a path of expanding the secular welfare state, nationalizing production, and enforcing economic equality and achievement?
You may call this what you wish. The esteemed constitutional scholar and author, Mark Levin, calls it “statism.” In our lifetime, the unpalatable and pejorative brands “socialist” and “communist” have been replaced with the more user-friendly “progressive.” But this is not a discussion about labels. It is a discussion far more important and grave, for it affects our nation’s future, our security, and the lives of each and every one of us. The dialogue must be about the future and direction of these United States. It is about the choice between two futures: a constitutional republic or a bureaucratic nanny-state.
As a nation, we must directly confront those issues that are most critical. We must be able to openly and candidly discuss how we will move forward to preserve our nation’s greatness, reduce our debt and deficit, put Americans back to work, take full advantage of our domestic energy resources and ensure our security.
These are dangerous and critical times for our country. We must be unafraid to discuss and confront the challenges we face, and ensure we keep our focus on the fundamental issues, rather than become distracted by semantics. I gladly welcome this debate in the arena of political ideologies of governance.

A federal audit found that Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign hid millions in contributions, according to the Washington Post.This is known as Obama/Soetoro Transparency!
The audit found that the campaign failed to disclose nearly $2 million in big money donations from Democratic supporters.
The Obama campaign was required to file public disclosures of contributions over $1,000 within two days after they were received in the weeks leading up to the election. The campaign failed to disclose 1,312 contributions totaling $1,972,266 that were transferred from a fund used to raise money with the Democratic National Committee.The average donation came out to more than $1,500.

Dan Crosby writes for The Daily Pen, April 12, 2012, that a suit was brought by (Retired) Commander Charles Kerchner in a New Jersey court challenging Obama’s right to have his name on the November ballot, due to a lack of authenticated eligibility of his “natural born citizen” status.
Obama’s attorney Alexandra Hill admitted that there is no evidence that the birth certificate the White House put online is authentic and that it likely was “manufactured.” Hill then proclaimed the birth certificate cannot be used as evidence to confirm Obama’s lack of natural born citizenship status and the issue therefore is “irrelevant to his placement on the ballot.”
Adding insult upon injury, Hill went on to contort reasoning further by implying that Obama needs only invoke his political popularity, not legal qualifications, in order to be a candidate.Of course Judge Masin ruled in Obama's (Soetoro's) Favor.

My work on the case representing Jerome Corsi vs Esquire, on defendant’s alleged attempted suppression of the “Where’s the Birth Certificate” book, made me aware of how outrageous the fraud of forged documents and stolen identity is. This is major; unprecedented for a (putative) sitting “President” of the USA. Even if that wasn’t the case, he would still be ineligible for the office, supported by his own admission that his father was never a citizen. Centuries of settled law established that.The only question remaining is can you find a court and judge that isn't corrupt?
So I looked at all this, looked at over 100 lost cases to date, looked at the solid opposition of Republicrat officials, media, courts, Congress, agencies, and still thought—I simply must do something. There must be at least one honest judge left in our troubled nation, one who will review the overwhelming evidence in a properly pleaded case and rule that this usurper doesn’t belong on the Florida ballot. We already have more than enough evidence to get Obama out—we simply need someone to do the right thing. I’ll do my part, if judges – and enough citizens – do theirs.

Jack Welch, renowned former CEO of General Electric before it became the nontaxpaying sock puppet for the administration's green energy push, has penned an Op-Ed article for Reuters in which he says Obama's "divide-and-conquer" re-election strategy is unworthy of a great leader and chides the president for blaming others for our economic woes.To the idiots that vote for him, It will be Obama/Soetoro the Great!
"Over the past three years," Welch wrote last Wednesday, "Obama has taken a sort of divide-and-conquer approach, amassing a list of enemies that would make Richard Nixon proud — bankers, health care insurance providers, oil companies, wealthy taxpayers, Congress and, most recently, the Supreme Court.
"Gas prices are the fault of oil speculators. The failure of solar power companies is the fault of unfair Chinese competition. The bad economy is one of the many things he inherited, as is the deficit. Operation Fast and Furious was a program begun under the Bush administration that he knew nothing about. The deficit is skyrocketing because the rich aren't paying their 'fair share.'"
On CNBC's "The Kudlow Report" the next day, Welch elaborated: "It was the insurance executives in health care. It was the bankers in the collapse. It was the oil companies as oil prices go up. It was Congress if things didn't go the way he wanted. And recently it's been the Supreme Court."
Indeed, of all the trial-balloon campaign slogans that President Obama has and will be trotting out, "the buck stops here" will not be one of them.
